Women’s Lacrosse earns #2 seed for CCC Tourney

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team has earned the #2 seed for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and a first-round bye.
 
Western New England University has earned the top seed for the 2015 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's lacrosse championship, which begins with quarterfinal round games on Saturday, April 25.
 
The Golden Bears (14-2 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after posting a perfect 8-0 record in CCC play.  Top-seeded WNE and second-seeded Roger Williams University (11-4 overall, 7-1 CCC) will receive byes in the tournament's quarterfinal round.
 
Two quarterfinal matches will be played on Saturday, April 25.  Third-seeded Endicott College (10-5, 6-2) will host sixth-seeded Salve Regina University (6-8, 3-5) in Beverly, Mass., while fourth-seeded Gordon College (10-7, 5-3) will host fifth-seeded University of New England (7-9, 4-4) in Wenham, Mass.  Both quarterfinal matches will begin at 1:00 p.m.
 
Winners of the two quarterfinal matches will advance to the semifinal round on Wednesday, April 29.  Top-seeded Western New England will host the winner of the Gordon vs. UNE quarterfinal in Springfield, Mass, while second-seeded Roger Williams will host the winner of the Endicott vs. Salve Regina quarterfinal in Bristol, R.I.  Start times will be announced.
 
Tournament action culminates with the CCC championship game on Saturday, May 2 at a time to be determined.
 
The CCC tournament champion will earn an automatic berth in the upcoming 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship.
