Box Score CLERMONT, Fla. – The Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team collected a 17-6 win over Methodist University Saturday evening in the team's first game of its Spring Break trip.
 
The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to three goals by McKenna Everding (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and one by Emily Stoeppel (Brookfield, Conn.). Methodist cut it back to 4-2 with scores by Renee Burt and Madison Ronelli. However, Everding, Stoeppel, and Carly Martin (Scituate, Mass.) each tallied goals to stretch the lead to five.
 
Bianca Terenzi closed out the scoring for Methodist in the first half with a goal with two minutes left. Martin would follow with her second goal of the game with nine seconds left in the half.
 
In the second half, the Hawks began the period with five unanswered goals over the first 13 minutes of play to take a commanding 13-3 lead. Both teams would trade goals over the next four minutes before Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.) notched a tally for RWU with just under nine minutes left to make it 16-5.  Paige Byrne (Clifton Park, N.Y.) would score the final goal for RWU with 1:43 left to give RWU the 11-goal win.
 
Everding led Roger Williams with seven points on six goals and an assist. Hogan added five points on four goals and an assist while Martin (3 G, 1 A) and Stoeppel (2 G, 2 A) each scored four points. Kimberly Bolk (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) made eight saves in the win.
 
Roger Williams (2-0) will play next Emerson on Thursday.
