Women’s Lacrosse Ends Regular Season With Win

Box Score WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team clinched the #2 seed for the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament with a 20-6 win over Gordon College Saturday afternoon.
 
The Hawks began the game on a 4-0 run with scores by Shayne Rivard (Easton, Conn.), Kaelin Hogan (Bethel, Conn.), and Devon Sarazin (Falmouth, Maine) in the first six minutes of play. Gordon tallied one score at 23:08, but the Hawks came back with ten unanswered goals over the remainder of the half to take a 14-1 lead going into halftime.
 
Gordon jumped out the second half with three straight goals over the first eight minutes but the Scots were unable to make a sizable dent into the Hawk lead. RWU still managed to outscore the Fighting Scots 6-5 in the half to claim the win.
 
Hogan finished with eight points on six goals and an assist. Emily Stoeppel (Brookline, Conn.) scored five goals, while Rivard had five points (3 G, 2 A).
