BIDDEFORD, Maine – Mandy Beck (Old Saybrook, Conn.) wasted no time to contribute to the offensive attack of the Roger Williams University Women's Lacrosse team, resulting in her receiving Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career, as it was announced by the conference offices on Monday. Beck piled up seven goals and four assists for the Hawks, leading the team to a 1-1 week.
 
After spending last season as a reserve, Beck broke into the starting group this spring and made an immediate impact, scoring seemingly at will to receive player of the week honors, an award the Hawks received just once last season.
 
In the team's season-opening defeat to Springfield College, she stuffed the stat sheet netting a trio of goals in addition to an assist while adding a ground ball, a draw control, and a caused turnover. In her encore performance, she was even better, finding the back of the net four times while distributing a trio of assists setting a career-high in total points in the process, finishing with seven. In each game she led or was tied for the lead among all players in both goals points.
 
Overall, her 11 points leads the conference while her seven goals are tied for the most in the CCC, and her four helpers are good for second. Ten of her 12 shots this season have been on net while her 58.3% shooting percentage leads all players with at least six shots taken this season.
