Lily Cunningham (Melrose, Mass.) received Commonwealth Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week of February 28
th through March 6
th as it was announced by the conference offices on Monday. The Hawks were dominant in both contests, outscoring their opponents by a combined score of 38-13 with Cunningham being a driving force behind their two wins.
This week's award marks the second time Cunningham has been named CCC Offensive Player of the Week with the other time coming after her dominant performance in the Conference Championship duel against Endicott last spring, a game in which she scored five goals.
The junior did it all for Roger Williams, setting a new career high in goals with six in their first matchup against Bridgewater State on Wednesday, with two of those coming off free position opportunities. Cunningham also scooped up two ground balls and grabbed five draw controls in the contest. In the team's second game of the week, she was perfect shooting the ball, scoring on both of her shots while assisting on three more. She also grabbed a trio of ground balls and another five draw controls while causing two turnovers. For the week, Cunningham put nine shots on goal, netting eight of them, while also scoring on all three of her free position attempts.
