CCC RELEASE
BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team received recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) as the conference announced their weekly honors for the week of Mar. 13–19, naming
Ryleigh Cavanaugh (Manchester, N.H.) and
Kimmy Creegan (Ramsey, N.J.) as the leagues Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week respectively.
Cavanaugh and Creegan are the fourth and fifth members of the Hawks women's lacrosse team to receive recognition this season.
Against three nationally ranked opponents, Cavanaugh picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors, after scoring in all three contests for the Hawks. After scoring one goal against #22 Hamilton and #2 Tufts, the midfielder added four goals and an assist against #17 Trinity as Roger Williams fell by one goal. She also added 24 draw controls in three games.
Creegan, a sophomore, registered six caused turnovers on the week to pair with seven ground balls. The Hawks defender also added four draw controls. She forced three turnovers and had three ground balls on Sunday at #17 Trinity.
Roger Williams (3-4, 0-0 CCC) will begin CCC play on Wednesday, Mar. 29 at 6 pm against Western New England. The Hawks will then travel to face Curry on Friday, Mar. 31 at 4 pm.
