Women's Lacrosse: Victory against Endicott keeps Hawks undefeated in the CCC

Box Score BEVERLY, Mass.– The Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team defeated Endicott on Saturday afternoon, 14-7, at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly, Mass.
 
On the attack, the Hawks began the game having eight goals within the first period. Goal scorers Julia Kelley (Foxborough, Mass.) and Kimmy Creegan (Ramsey, N.J.) put away three goals each early on the in-game, giving the Hawks a good lead. Kelley also acquired three assists during the contest. Senior Karli Chapin (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) also stepped up, scoring three goals throughout the matchup. The three players had a combined nine goals towards the final victory for the Hawks.
 
Defensively, Kate Shultz (Portsmouth, N.H.) led the Hawks in ground ball pickup, having six throughout the contest to gain possession for Roger Williams. Chapin also had three caused turnovers during the matchup.
 
During the first period of the game, the Hawks put away more than half of the goals from the contest, having a total of 8 goals going into the second period, with Endicott having only managed to score one goal during this time by Kiana Napolitano. Endicott began their comeback attempt in the second period, scoring two more goals and bringing the score to 10-3, with the Hawks maintaining a steady lead.
 
The third period proved to be a difficult one for the Hawks, with no goals scored during this time. However, Endicott was able to secure three more goals in an attempt to narrow the score gap between the teams. The Roger Williams Hawks stepped back up during the fourth period, scoring four more goals, two of which were by junior Emma Terino (East Meadow, N.Y.).
 
The Roger Williams University Hawks, (7-7, 6-0 CCC), continue their winning streak and remain undefeated in the conference and will host Nichols College on Tuesday, Apr 16th at 7:00pm at home on Bayside Field for their last conference matchup of the season.
