PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Roger Williams Women's Swimming team traveled to Providence College for the Friar Invitational on Saturday afternoon. While no team results were compiled, the Hawks used the meet to tune up for the coming season.
In the 800 SC Meter Freestyle, the Hawks' Kendall Noonan (Southington, Conn.) finished the highest out of the RWU participants in 10:44.83.
In the 200 SC Meter Freestyle, Avagrace Zettler (Allendale, N.J.) was the top Hawks finisher with a time of 2:19.15. For the 200 SC Meter IM, Zettler swam again and finished third with a time of 2:37.19.
In the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, Avery Watson (Niskayuna, N.Y.) swam for the Hawks, finishing with a time of 1:15.98, putting her in fifth for the race. Watson was back in the pool for the 200 SC Meter Backstroke, finishing fifth with a time of 2:45.59.
In the 100 SC Meter Breaststroke, the Hawks' Mattia McIntyre (Norton, Mass.) claimed the top spot for RWU and finished fourth overall with a time of 1:21.54. McIntyre was back in the pool for the 200 SC Meter Breaststroke and finished fourth with a time of 2:58.66.
For the 200 SC Meter Butterfly, Kallie Fournier (Berkely, Mass.) swam for the Hawks and finished with a time of 2:41.46. Back in the pool for the 100 SC Meter Butterfly, Fournier finished sixth with a time of 1:13.36.
In the 50 SC Meter Freestyle, Avery Benigni (Meriden, Conn.) took third with a time of 28.38. Benigni swam again in the 100 SC Meter Freestyle, finishing ninth with a time of 1:03.83.
In the 400 SC Meter Freestyle, Ella Rothberg (Fairfield, Conn.) took fourth with a time of 5:15.01.
In the 400 SC Meter Freestyle Relay, Roger took third with the team of Benigni, Isabel Tahlmore (Narragansett, R.I.), Zettler, and Claire Dombrofski (West Hartford, Conn.) finishing with a time of 4:17.15
The Hawks will host Babson on Saturday, Oct 18th at 10:30am.
