NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field Team finished seventh overall at the Corsair Classic hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
On a frigid day, the Hawks saw
Ryan Thomas finish in fourth, earning five points for RWU, finishing with a 34:29.88 time. The 4x100 Relay squad of
Griffin Hebert,
Joey Deluca,
Jacob Ward, and
Sam Bielawa posted a time of 44.66, finishing eighth.
Eli Labell finished in second in the 3000 steeplechase, crossing the finish line in 10:17.52, while Evans finished second in the 1500 meter, finishing 0.27 behind the first-place runner.
In the sprints, Deluca posted the top time for RWU in the 100, finishing with a time of 11.90.
Constantine Georgopoulos finished with a time of 12.15 as the second runner to cross for the Hawks.
Joseph Mallozi was the top finisher for Roger Williams in the 200 meter, while
Burke Mattey paced the Hawks in the 400 followed by
Nathan Labossiere with times of 53.23 and 53.67.
In the field events,
Jordan Kellis placed 12
th in the Javelin, with a throw of 46.04m, while
Enrique Maldonado finished seventh in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.35m. In the shot put, Maldonado threw for 11.86m with
Justin Dickson throwing the shot for 11.45m, finishing 13
th and 16
th respectively.
In the high jump,
Ronald Nolin hit a height of 1.80m, with
Justin Diller finishing with a height of 1.65m.
Roger Williams will return to competition on Friday, Apr. 4 at the Ocean State Cup hosted by Bryant.
