Box Score MILTON, MASS. – The Roger Williams University women's lacrosse team put on a dominant display against Curry College, securing a decisive 20-3 victory in their latest matchup. The Hawks controlled the tempo from start to finish, showcasing a very strong offensive performance.
The Hawks wasted no time getting on the board, finding the back of the net ten times in the opening quarter to set the tone. Emma Terino (East Meadow, N.Y.) led the charge, tallying five goals herself and proving to be an unstoppable force for the Hawks. Mia Pantano (Reading, Mass.), also provided key goals for the Hawks, adding four goals of her own. The Hawks' offensive efficiency was highlighted by their ability to move the ball effectively, with Allie Shamberger (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Miranda Hayes (South Burlington, Vt.) recording three assists each throughout the match. Their precision passing created numerous scoring opportunities, allowing the team to capitalize on nearly every possession.
While the offense stole the show, Roger Williams' defensive unit delivered a lockdown performance, holding Curry College to just three goals. Sam Guarini (North Andover, Mass.) was instrumental in forcing turnovers and limiting the Colonels' opportunities, while goalkeepers Zoey Cormican (Rochester, N.H.) and Aizza Chase (Cohasset, Mass.) stood tall in net with two and three saves respectively, keeping Curry's scoring low.
With a comfortable 14-0 lead heading into the second half, the Hawks continued to execute at a high level and put away several more goals before the end of the game. A total of 10 Hawks found the back of the net at least once within the match.
Roger Williams (4-5, 2-0 CNE) will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup as they aim to continue their strong season. The Hawks will next face Gordon on the road on Tuesday, April 1st in Wenham, Mass. for their third conference game of the season.
