Box Score WENHAM, MASS. – The Roger Williams women's lacrosse team traveled up to face Gordon College in their third Conference of New England (CNE) match of the 2025 season. The Hawks downed the Scots 22–2.
Within the first few minutes of the match, the Hawks
Ella Waryas (Foxboro, Mass.), and
Mia Pantano (Reading, Mass.) put away two goals of the game. The Scots retaliated a few moments later with a goal of their own by Kaitlyn Mini, bringing the score to 2-1. The Hawk's
Emma Terino (East Meadow, N.Y.) brought the score up to 4-1 with two more goals just minutes apart.
Margo Tenney (Braintree, Mass.) found the back of the net shortly after, assisted by
Allie Shamberger (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) for a fifth goal for the Hawks before Shamberger went on to score one of her own. Right before the buzzer, Tenney and Pantano each found the back of the net for a second time, bringing the score up to 8-1 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter,
Jamie Anthony (Somers, Conn.) added her name to the leaderboard, adding another goal for the Hawks before Waryas slid in her second goal of the game. Terino slotted two more goals in with assists from Tenney and
Miranda Hayes (South Burlington, Vt.).
Mikayla Fey (Bethlehem, Pa.) fed Tenney a pass, helping her to put away her third goal of the match.
Jaymie Arena (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Waryas then found the net, earning two more goals and allowing the Hawks to enter halftime with a comfortable lead of 15-1.
Following halftime, the Hawks scoring slowed. Arena and
Meaghan Holmes (Pembroke, Mass.) each put away a goal off a free position attempt, raising the score to 17-1. Shortly after to end of the third period, Pantano and Waryas added their third and fourth goals of the game, respectively.
In the final quarter of the game, Hayes earned the first goal of the game off of a man-up opportunity, making it 20-1 for the Hawks. In the final few minutes of the matchup, Holmes put in her second goal before the Scots were able to slip in one last attempt, resulting in a second tally on the board for them.
Lily Poletto (East Lyme, Conn.) put the last goal away for the team with just seconds left on the clock, bringing the final score up to 22-2.
The Roger Williams women's lacrosse team (5-5, 3-0 CNE) will now turn towards their next conference matchup on Friday, April 4th where they will host Suffolk at home on Bayside Field at 6:00pm.
