NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team opened up competition on Friday afternoon at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships hosted by Coast Guard.
In the Men's Decathlon,
Justin Dickson sits third overall tallying 3106 points, sitting 211 back of Christian Burke of Southern Maine for first. In the 100m, Dickson placed third collecting 765 points with a personal best of 11.44. He then finished seventh in the long jump, with a distance of 5.89m, ahead of an 11.82m throw in the shot put placing second, collecting 1923 points through the first three events.
After jumping a height of 1.63m, Dickson sat with 2411 points, before finishing fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.59.
In the Hammer Throw,
Napoleon Suderman and
Enrique Maldonado finished 20
th and 26
th respectively. Suderman posted a top throw of 45.04m while Maldonado threw a distance of 42.52m.
Roger Williams will return to competition on Saturday.
