NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Roger Williams University Track & Field teams competed at the New England Division III Outdoor National Championships, concluding on Saturday.
In the Men's Decathlon,
Justin Dickson competed in the decathlon. In the 100m, Dickson placed third, collecting 765 points with a personal best of 11.44. He then finished seventh in the long jump, with a distance of 5.89m, ahead of an 11.82m throw in the shot put, placing second, collecting 1923 points through the first three events. Dickson also finished fourth in the 400m with a 52.69 time
On Saturday, Dickson added a 16.80 time on the 110 hurdles, as he collected an additional 645 points, Dickson placed second in the discus with a 32.12m throw, while not competing in other events.
After jumping a height of 1.63m, Dickson sat with 2411 points, before finishing fourth in the 400m with a time of 52.59.
In the Hammer Throw,
Napoleon Suderman and
Enrique Maldonado finished 20
th and 26
th, respectively. Suderman posted a top throw of 45.04m while Maldonado threw a distance of 42.52m.
In the High Jump,
Ronald Nolin finished in 15
th, after posting a height of 1.85m, before Suderman earned All-Region Honors with a 46.65m throw placing sixth in the discus. Maldonando added a 35.90m throw in the event.
Griffin Hebert posted a strong time of 56.27 in the 400 hurdles, as
Jack Bielawa had a 56.56 time, setting a personal best.
Sam Bielawa now sits tied for 19
th nationally in the Triple Jump after setting a new personal best with a 14.45m jump, finishing second, and earning All-Region Honors.
Eli Labell placed 15
th in the stepplechase with a 10:29.86 time, with the team of Hebert,
Joey Deluca,
Constantine Georgopoulos, and
Jayden Rinaldni placed 44.09 a season best for the program in the 4x100.
Rounding out the men's competition was the team of
Joe Mallozzi,
Jack Bielawa,
Burke Mattey, and
Nathan Labossiere who finished the 4x400 relay in 3:29.76.
On the women's side Garcia finished with a distance of 13.58m in the Shot Put, while
Amanda Walsh,
Natalie Reid,
Karsyn Medeiros, and
Mya D'Antonio posted a season best time of 52.15 in the 4x100. The 4x400 also saw
Tab Didonato,
Meghan Purcell, D'Antonio and
Olivia O'Neil go for a season best 4:10.91.
