WENHAM, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Men's Track & Field team leads the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship heading into day two, leading with 48.5 points.
The Hawks lead Hartford, who sits at 47 points, while Wentworth sits at 33 total points.
In the steeplechase, the Hawks were paced by a pair of top-three finishes as
Nathan Evans placed first with a 9:46.87 time, while
Eli Labell also broke the 10-minute mark, placing third in 9:57.39, shattering his previous personal best.
In the pole vault,
Justin Dickson picked up 3.5 points, placing tied for fifth, with a jump of 3.80m. In the javelin throw, Dickson picked up the gold with a distance of 55.46m, while
Jordan Kellis finished just outside the top eight with a throw of 42.83m, placing ninth.
The hammer throw saw three Hawks finish tallying points, with
Enrique Maldonado placing second with a 44.62m throw, while
Napoleon Suderman earned a 44.32m finish to place third.
Adams Becerra also tallied a pair of points with a 37.09m throw, finishing seventh.
In the high jump, the Hawks saw
Ronald Nolin place fifth with a jump of 1.80m, as he finished tied for fifth with three jumpers.
Roger Williams will return to action on Saturday for the final day of the CNE Championship.
