The Roger Williams University Athletic Hall of Fame
Matt Walby claimed the first national championship for any sport in the history of Roger Williams University Athletics after winning the IHSA National Championship at Open Fences in 1994. He won the Open Fences Division and Open Flat Division at the 1994 Zone 1 Region 1 Championships prior to his national championship victory. His performance helped him earn the honor of 1994 RWU Male Athlete of the Year. In addition, he also finished in second place at the IHSA National Championship at the Open Equitation Over Fences Division in 1992, earning Reserve Champion honors.
