The Roger Williams University Athletic Hall of Fame
The 1999 Men’s Soccer team earned its place in the RWU record books as the first team to ever qualify for the Division III NCAA National Championship Tournament in any sport at Roger Williams. The team finished the regular season with a 10-1-0 record in the Commonwealth Coast Conference, then won three playoff games to earn the spot in the national tournament, including a 2-1 overtime victory over Gordon College in the CCC Championship Game. The team would go on to host Keene State in the first round game of the NCAA tournament and finish the season with a record of 16-6-0, which was the best record of any soccer team up to that point.
