BRISTOL, R.I.- The Roger Williams University Women's swimming team conceded to Babson College 139.5-121.5 at home on Saturday, October 18.
The Hawks sent Allison Lefebvre (Saco, Maine), Mattia McIntyre (Norton, Mass.), Avery Benigni (Meriden, Conn.), and AvaGrace Zettler (Allendale, N.J.) to compete in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team finishing in first place in this event with an overall time of 1:58.98.
In the 1000-yard Freestyle, Alexis Gentile (Wayne, N.J.) was the top Hawk finisher, coming in second with a time of 12:00.68.
In the 200-Yard Freestyle, the Hawks' Claire Dombrofski (West Hartford, Conn.) took third place with a time of 2:05.27. Dombrofski was back in the pool for the 100-yard Freestyle, recording a second place finished with a time of 56.71.
In Backstroke events this meet, Shae Gonzalez (Pottstown, Pa.) took second in the 100-yard event finishing with a time of 1:07.55. In the 200-yard Backstroke, Victoria Fahey (Scituate, Mass.) was the top Hawks finisher with a time of 2:29.17.
Kallie Fournier (Berkley, Mass.) placed second in the 200-yard Butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:20.27.
Benigni was back in the pool for the 50-yard Freestyle, finishing second with a 25.65 time.
The Hawks recorded the top two finishes in the 100-yard Breaststroke, with McIntyre coming in first with a time of 1:12.88 and Brooke Irons (Cranston, R.I.) finishing second with a time of 1:15.38. McIntyre and Irons were back in the pool for the 200-yard Breaststroke, finishing first and second respectively.
In the 500-yard Freestyle, Lauren Clark (Trumbull, Conn.) swam to a third-place finish with a time of 5:55.90.
For the 100-yard Butterfly, Zettler was the top Hawks finisher with a time of 1:03.32 and coming in second. Zettler was back in the pool for the 200-yard Individual Medley, finishing in first-place with a time of 2:22.95.
Roger Williams claimed second in the 200-Yard Free Relay. The team of Benigni, Isabel Tahlmore (Narragansett, R.I.), Amira Aboudou (Revere, Mass.), and Dombrofski finished with a time of 1:44.56.
Roger Williams will be back in the pool on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they host Bridgewater State, Norwich, Maine Maritime, and Eastern Connecticut State at the RWU Invitational.
