NORTON, Mass. – The Roger Williams University Women's Swimming team finished second out of four as they round out day two at the Chris Fisher Invitational, hosted by Wheaton College.
Lauren Clark (Trumbull, Conn.) finished third in the 1650-yard Freestyle with a time of 19:27.44.
The Hawks sent
Shae Gonzales (Pottstown, Pa.),
Mattia McIntyre (Norton, Mass.),
Avery Benigni (Meriden, Conn.), and
Claire Dombrofski (West Hartford, Conn.) to compete in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team finished third overall with a time of 1:52.65.
In the 400-yard Individual Medley,
Kallie Fournier (Berkley, Mass.) took third with a time of 4:59.52, followed by Clark with a time of 5:06.59.
Dombrofski was back in the pool for the 200-yard Freestyle, finishing tenth with a time of 2:01.12. Dombrofski swam again in the 50-yard Freestyle, finishing fifth with a time of 25.50.
Avery Watson (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the Hawks in the 100-yard Backstroke and finished fourth overall with a time of 1:02.92.
In the 200-yard Breaststroke, the Hawks took the top three spots. Led by
Mattia McIntyre (Norton, Mass.) in first with a time of 2:32.61, followed closely by
Brooke Irons (Cranston, R.I.) taking second and
Anna Gallagher (Ellington, Conn.) finishing third.
Benigni swam again for the Hawks in the 100-yard Butterfly, finishing third in 1:01.21. Following closely behind was
AvaGrace Zettler (Allendale, N.J.), who finished fourth with a time of 1:02.72.
Benigni,
Josey Stevens (Merrimack, N.H.), Gonzalez, and Dombrofski competed for the Hawks in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. The team finished third with a time of 3:43.16.
Roger Williams will be back in the pool in January as they host WPI for day one of Tech Sprints on Jan. 23 and then head to WPI for day two on Jan. 24.
